Blast From the Past – May’s Reader Faves

It’s no secret that I love to create and share printables here. I have fun create articles that I hope will help you in some way. And it’s a joy to take a look back and see what posts, printables, and landing pages get the most visits from you.

May’s reader faves are both fun and surprising. I love the mix of home, planner, and life topics. I hope you have just as much fun checking them all out as I did putting this collection together.

Keep on scrolling to discover the top 5 reader faves that pop up in my most popular content every single May.

This image is a tall rectangle. The top two thirds are divided into a three skinny rectangle collage. The left photo partially shows a planner lying open with a meal planning page partially showing. The middle photo partially shows a teal planner lying open with a monthly to-do list planner page partially shown. The right hand photo shows a brown planner with a saving tracker page partially showing. Under the photos, is a banner that looks like it's made from torn paper. On it it says "Blast from the Past - May's Reader Faves" and under it are three partial rectangles that line up with the images above. The left is a medium yellow, the middle is a light aqua, and the last is a peachy coral.

What is Blast From the Past

The Blast From the Past is a new post that will come out once a month. It will feature a collection of posts and pages that have hit my monthly top 20-50 posts in previous years. I always find it interesting to see which content stands the test of time and which come and go. The five pieces of content I’m sharing each month will be a mix of all both.

Now enough rambling from me, let’s take a look at these posts.

May’s Reader Faves

May is one of those months that seems to either be a joy or a hectic, crazy month of never ending activities. If I was to judge May by the reader faves from years gone by, I would say it’s a month of new beginnings, thinking ahead, and getting our homes in order.

The posts that have popped up almost yearly in May cover a range of things from meal planning to moving house. To me, this set embodies the feelings that May seems to evoke for many.

Let’s check them out!

Why I Stopped Planning My Meals and What I Do Instead

This post was first published on April 27, 20215. We’d started shopping differently and my husband was doing the majority of the cooking. (Something he loves to do) I was finding that meal planning just wasn’t working for us any longer. The trouble was, I still needed a plan of some sort to help with creating the grocery list.

After a few months of trial and error I finally settled on a system that is still working for us today. It allows me to loosely plan for a variety of meals so that my husband can cook what he feels like. The only change we’ve made is deciding the night before what we’re making so we can pull things out of the freezer if needed.

You can find all the details about how I do this and the printables I made to help over on the post. Just click the image or the link underneath to get there.

Under that is a picture of a brown leather planner laying open on a wooden desk. The planner page shows a meal planner for dinners page that is sectioned into columns for meat, sides, veggies, and extras. Overlapping a little of the bottom of the picture is a tan box with dark grey text that says "Why I Stopped Planning My Meals and What I Do Instead"

More Move Planner Printables to Help You Stay on Track

This post was shared first on July 8, 2015. Back then we were planning to move back to our home town, or at least closer to it. To help me plan I made a variety of different move planner printables to help me keep track of everything.

Life had different plans for us and I didn’t get to use all of these printables until the end of 2017, but that hasn’t stopped them from popping into my top twenty every May since I hit that publish button.

If you or someone you know is planning a move, hop on over and check them out. And if there is planner page you need related to moving, let me know in the comments below. If I don’t have I’m happy to add it to my list of ones to make when I start updating this collection.

The image starts with a close up photo of the top centre of a teal and white leather like planner laying on a wooden desk. The planner pages shows a move planner budget with a table for categorized expenses on one page and a utilities and services fees planner on the other. Overlapping the photo and the sand background of the last third of the image, is a tan box with white text that says "Moving Planner." In the sand coloured area at the bottom of the image is dark green text that says "More Move Planner Printables to Help You Stay on Track."

A Few More Finance Printables to Help You Stay on Track

Finances seem to be a popular topic for May. Maybe it’s because tax season is over but we are all still thinking about our finances? I’m not sure about the why, but I know that this post with more finances printables in it has been a May favourite almost every year.

I first shared these printables on January 21, 2016. They were created to work with the finance printables from April’s Faves. In this post you’ll find lots of trackers, for savings, debt repayment, even a monthly bill tracker.

Coastal Dreams To-Do List Planner Printables

The Coastal Dreams To-Do List Planners first hit the blog on January 6, 2020. This planner collection will always hold a special place in heart. Not just because of the year I released it, but because I stepped out of my design comfort zone with the muted pastel colour palette and decorative elements.

Seeing this, and other Coastal Dreams printables, pop up in the top posts month after month is always a treat. This one in particular though, since it’s the first time I shared a monthly version of my structure to-do lists. And it’s turned into a reader fave year after year.

You can hop on over to the post to check them out for yourself. These printables make a fabulous addition to any planner or family command centre.

Home and Life Organized

The Home and Life Organized series was one I started back in October of 2016 as part of the 31 Days challenge. The point of the challenge was to try to write and publish something ever single day in the month of October. This particular year I chose to write a series dedicated to updating and adding printables to help manage our homes and lives.

The first half the of series is focused on home management printables. Reference pages, trackers, and planners that you might need to help manage different areas of your home. The second half was for planner printables to help make managing life stuff a little easier.

Fun Fact: This was the last time I took part in the 31 Days challenge. It was my fourth year doing it and my fourth time not being able to complete it.

You can check out all the posts, and see how far I did get, by click the image or the link below.

Planner printables and Home Management Printables a plenty in this series, as well as tips for how using multiple planners can help keep your home and life organized.
