Welcome to the Home and Life Companion page. The Home and Life Companion series was created as way to celebrate 11 years of making and sharing printables here on my little corner of internet.

At the beginning of 2023, I realized that I’d somehow overlooked celebrating the 10th anniversary of when I created Scattered Squirrel. I’d always planned on doing something special for that milestone, so I chose to do it for the 11th instead. And the printables and posts found on this page are the result.

I hope that this page offers you tools and inspiration to help organize and manage your home and all the various aspects of your life. Without further ado, scroll on down and check them out for yourself.

The Home and Life Companion Collection

The Home and Life Companion collection is a year-long series that aims to provide helpful printables for organizing various aspects of our lives. Best of all, I’m prioritizing YOUR printable request first, then updating older versions and adding new ones of my own after.

Back when I first started blogging, Home Management Binders were all the rage. The first printables I shared here on Scattered Squirrel were created to help me manage parts of my home. As time has gone by, I realized that it wasn’t just about home management. That many the tools I was creating were to help manage different areas of life. And that’s where the name for this series came from.

Each month, a different section will be featured, they include:

Home Sections

• Important Information – such as emergency numbers, or information that doesn’t fit other categories, etc…
• Cleaning – cleaning schedules, season cleaning checklists, homemade cleaner recipes, etc…
• Garden/Yard – garden planning, plant list, lawn care instructions, landscaping plans, etc…
• Organizing – room planner, space planner, project list, measurements list, etc…
• Maintenance – home maintenance task lists, appliance care instructions, all things around the home that require maintenance
• Future Projects – home renos, moves, landscape plans, etc…

Life Sections

• Health – appointment visits logs, physical health trackers, mental health trackers, medication logs, etc…
• Family – anything you might need to keep hand for family members, school information for each kiddo, friend contact info, etc…
• Finances – budgets, expense trackers, savings trackers, list of accounts, debt repayment, etc…
• Auto/Vehicle – maintenance tracker, repair logs, list of vehicles, insurance information, etc….
• Meal Planning/Kitchen – meal planners, food inventories, recipe cards, special washing instructions for kitchen stuff, etc…
• Life Events – moving, back to school, vacations, holidays, etc…

Accessing the Printables

As you peruse through the printables on this page, it is my sincere hope that you find some that will fit your planning or organizing needs. When you do find ones you like, there are two ways you can get access to the printables.

The first way is to click the link to the post the printables are shared in. The posts explain how to use the printables and you can download them from the posts.

The second way is to just simply click (or tap) the image of the printable you want. Depending on how you have your browser or device set up, the printable might open for you and then you can choose to print or download from that screen. It might automatically download, in which case you’ll find it your Downloads folder. Or a dialogue box might open asking where you would like to save it.

The Home Sections

The printables in this part of the Home and Life Collection are very home centric. They were designed to be tools to help manage and painting all the various things around the home. From creating a centralized list of important contacts to planning future projects around your home, you’ll find a variety of printables to help you organize all the details.

Important Information

Important information can be anything you think you might need to get yours hands on quickly. It can also be information you want others to be able to find in case of an emergency.

Currently this section contations printables for your emergency and other important contacts and any important accounts. I’m happy to add more to this section as requests come in, so please let me know if there’s anything you’d like to see added. You’ll find instructions for how to do this at the bottom of this page.

The Life Sections

In this section of the Home and Life Companion, all the printables and sections are focused on organizing and managing different areas of life. Things such as managing health matters, planning meals, budgeting, and planning for life events like back to school and holidays are all examples of life focused things.

Health

The health section is where you will find all health related printables. There are printables designed to help you manage and track treatments and medications. Everything from your food to your water intake.

There are more printables coming to this collection. Ones focused more on appointments and tracking medical visits. And, as always, feel free to submit your requests for any medical or health related printable you’d like to see offered. You’ll find instructions for how to submit your requests at the end of this page.

Reminders

The printables in this subset are all designed to help remind of something. Things you need to do for your health either daily or weekly.

Fun Fact – I stepped outside my comfort zone to make the water tracker printables. I’m not really good with using graphics, but I’m thrilled with how they turned out.

Meal Planning and Kitchen

The kitchen and meal times are the heart and hub of family life. We spend a lot of time cooking, prepping, and visiting in the kitchen. So it’s no real surprise that this section is fairly large.

Here you will find printable tools to help you plan your meals, organize you recipes and ideas, and keep track of what you have on hand so you can save time and money. I hope that in this section you find a few printables that fit your kitchen or meal planning needs.

Recipes and Meal Ideas Lists

This section is full of printables that will help you store ideas for your meal plans. From your favourite meals and goodies to dishes and meals you can make ahead of time, this section is full of tools to help make meal planning easier.

Meal Planners

Meal planners can be really helpful tools. The weekly meal planners in this section are fabulous for planning or even tracking your meals. One of my favourite ways to make meal planning even easier, is to save my weekly plans to reuse at a later date.

Grocery and Shopping Lists

Meal planning is only side of the managing the kitchen coin. The other side is grocery shopping. You can’t cook if you don’t have any ingredients. Below you’ll find a couple of different options for printable shopping lists.

KItchen Inventories

Kitchen inventories are one of those tools that people either love or hate. No matter what camp you fall in, they can be a very handy tool to have on hand. Personally, I use the freezer inventory to help me keep track of what is in our chest freezer. It’s really helped up make sure we’re using what we have.

Kitchen Reference Pages

The reference pages below are designed mostly for cleaning and maintenance of kitchen items. Appliances small and large have different requirements and restrictions when it comes to cleaning and maintaining them. By keeping all those instructions in on place you can make having to check instructions super simple and quick.

Dividers and Tabs

You can’t create an organized Home and Life Companion without some dividers. I created a few different sets of dividers to help make organizing your binder or planner easy and customizable.

The first sets are just normal, decorative dividers. The second set is more functional in addition to be more ink/toner friendly. Both these divider styles come in your choice of full or half letter size with the titles being in script or serif fonts.

There is also a large set of tabs. There are twenty eight pages of tabs. The first two are labeled and colour coded for each section. One page is serif and the other is script. The next two pages are one of each colour tab in solid colour and with a white label area. Then each section colour gets two pages of its own – one solid coloured tabs the other with a white label area.

This way you can use the tabs however you like. Print only the pages of the ones you want and customize your Home and Life Companion in a way that fits your needs. Heck, use them to organize your planners, notes book, journal, school books, or anything else you might need tabs for.

Submitting Your Printable Requests
