Welcome to the Home and Life Companion Series

The Home and Life Companion series, is a year-long series that aims to provide helpful printables for organizing various aspects of our lives. Each month, a different section will be featured, this month we’re focusing on the Home Maintenance section.

The printables are inspired by your requests first, followed by updated versions of previously shared printables, and a few new ones added to the mix.

The Home Organization Printables

Without a doubt, organizing our home can be one the most challenging tasks we take on because it’s not a one and done task. As life changes we need to make changes to our organization systems too.

But that doesn’t mean it had to be hard. The home organization printables in this post are tools to make maintaining your systems easier. In addition, all of the printables in this section are ones that came as requests from readers like you.

Let’s jump to it shall we?

Inventory Lists

Do you ever find yourself needing something that you’re pretty sure you already have but can’t remember where you put it? It happens to me all the time, so you are very much not alone. It’s also one of the reasons this first set of printables were requested.

Below you’ll find inventory pages that allow you to keep track of what items you have, how many, where you’re storing them, and anything you need to note about them. It’s a simple style of printable, but it can be invaluable with saving you time.

First up we have one for general, every day items. These could include things in your basement, attic, garage, craft room, store room, or even a storage unit.

Next we have ones for seasonal items. These might be sporting goods, seasonal apparel, tools or equipment. The could even be seasonal decorative items you like to put around your home.

Lastly we have the one for holiday decor. These pages can be used for any holiday, and it’s a great way to see what you have without pulling everything out.

Storage Lists

Next up we have the storage lists. Or maybe logs or index might be a better word? I truly wasn’t sure what to call these. If lists above are a general inventory that lets you know what you have and how many you have, then these are printables that will tell you exactly where to find those items.

These home organizing printables are almost identical to my moving packing list printables. There’s space to note the bin or box as well as where that bin/box is located. After that, you can list all the items in the container and even attach a picture of everything if you’d like. This way you can figure out what is stored where, without having to hunt through all your bins and boxes.

In addition to putting these in your Home and Life Companion notebook, you could also trim them and attach them right to the storage container if you want.

Again, the first set is a generic one that can be used for anything.

Then we have to one for seasonal storage.

And finally we have the ones for holiday decor.

Home Lists

This last section contains three different lists that are useful to have on hand. The first is a home inventory, followed by a detailed shopping list, and ending with a home wish list.

The home inventory printable was requested by someone who wanted something structured to help them create and maintain an inventory of everything they have in their home. Including room for a picture of each item.

While this printable is included in the Home Organization section, it’s more about being prepared and less about organizing. Having a detailed home inventory is usually required for most home insurance. In addition, it can also make estate planning a little easier.

Secondly we have the shopping list printable. This printable is not just any shopping list. The person who requested it wanted something specifically for shopping for things to either decorate her home or organize her home.

This list includes room for the item, the measurements (so you can make sure it fits your space) quantity you need, and even a column for your budget.

Last, but not least, we have the home wish list printable. It’s exactly what it says – a wish list of things you would like to get for your home. Whether you’re wanting specific things to help you get organized, or just things to make your home more you – this list is the perfect place to store them.

There’s space for noting the item, the material, the quantity, is it a DIY or a buy, the cost, and anything else you’d like to note. Like the home inventory, there’s also room to include a picture.

Until Next Time

Organizing our homes can take a lot of effort, maintaining it shouldn’t. I hope you find the home organization printables useful and that they help you save time while staying organized.
