Thank You BC Teachers

Happy Friday everyone!  Today I’m switching gears a little bit.  If you live in BC (British Columbia,  Canada) or know someone who does, you’ve probably heard that our teacher’s are currently negotiating a new contract with our Provincial Government, and I would go into that more, but I fear it would turn into a rant and I really just want to take time say ….

Thank You BC Teachers, for everything you do all year long! | ScatteredSquirrel.com

Our teachers, (and I mean ALL teachers) work hard at what they do.  They are charged with not only educating our children on their ABCs and 123’s but with helping us parents lay the foundation for a successful future as adults.  Teachers work to foster a love of learning with their students, and not only help them understand academic concepts or help them express themselves through various artistic mediums, but they help our children learn what it means to be part of a community.  They teach our children how to be a friend, and sometimes they have to teach our children when to walk away.  They nurture young minds with kindness, compassion, empathy and creativity, and spend tireless hours making sure they are doing the best job they can with what they have.

Right now, in BC, our teachers are fighting for our children.  They are fighting to build a stronger, more supportive education system.  They are asking for more help, because they don’t want children slipping through the widening cracks the current system is causing.  They want to discuss and address concerns of growing class sizes, and they want input on how those classes are composed.  With the number of children with higher needs rising, our teachers need help to make sure all students are learning what they need to learn and are that none are being left behind.

I know sometimes being a teacher can be a thankless job, and I wanted to take a moment to say thank you.  To all our teachers who give so much of themselves to our children.  For everything you do, inside of the class and outside.  Thank you for teaching!  Thank you for supporting!  Thank you for being a part of our children’s lives.  Thank you for caring for our children! Thank you for being their voice in the political arena, and thank you for fighting for their future.  In short…

Thank you for everything that you do!
