Move Management

Moving can be a wonderful adventure, but it’s also full of chaos.  There are so many steps and things to keep track of and it can quickly become overwhelming. I created a move management binder and it was a huge help in keeping us on track.

Between the packing and the house hunting, there are just so many details that we need to keep track of.  Having one place to store all the information you need is a great way to make sure that nothing gets forgotten and that your move runs smoothly.

This image is a tall rectangle with a sandy coloured background. At the top in small, dark green text is a the label "Life Organized." Under that is a picture of the top right corner of a brown leather planner laying open on a wooden desk. The planner page shows a house hunting home evaluation page. Overlapping a little of the bottom of the picture is a tan box with dark grey text that says "Moving Planner"

Move Management Printables

Moving is stressful enough without having to worry about forgetting something. The moving planner printables were designed to help organize your thoughts and tasks so you can spend less time trying to remember what you still need to do. This, in turn, frees up space for rest and relaxation, which are two things that are always in short supply while moving.

Below you will find a collection of printables that will help you manage your next move.  Everything from packing lists to a move-in checklist can be found below. It’s really easy to get your printable, just click on the image of the ones you’d like.

There will be link at the end of each section that will take you to the post where those printables were first shared. You’ll find more information about each printable in those posts.

House Hunting Printables

The house hunting printables were created to make looking for a new home a little easier. First up is a page that allows you to create a list of all the things you need or want in a new home. Which allows you to filter potential homes based on what will work best for you.

The second page is an evaluation page. Bring this with you when you’re looking at places so you can record your thoughts and impressions to review and compare with others later on.

Moving Checklists

Having a good checklist is almost like having a magic wand. Knowing there is a place where all the tasks related to moving can live and we can check them off as we do them, frees up brain space. Better than that, a good checklist makes space on our brains to relax.

In this collection there are three. The first is the the Things To Do When Moving checklist, which not only has my list of what I like to do to prepare for and then move, but also room to add your own tasks. It also has a spot to track where you’ve changed your address.

The next one is the Move In Necessities checklist. This has a list of everything you might need to have on hand for your first few days in a new home. It makes is less stressful to have the basics on hand and easy to grab.

The last one is the Move Out cleaning checklist. Whether you rent or own, it’s always nice to leave your old home clean for the new people coming in.

Moving Tip – print two. One for moving out and one for moving in, this allows you track what you did and didn’t need to clean in your new place.

Budgeting and Utility and Service Planning

Moving is one of those life events where there are lots of hidden fees and expenses. Having a budget is a great way to help prepare yourself, and your wallet, for the bills associated with a move.

In addition, sometimes there are extra fees associated with connecting or transferring your utilities and services.

The two printables in this section will help you organize all of that information.

Packing List/Inventory

I saved the best for last. This is probably my favourite, don’t know how I would live without. it, move planner printables. If you only choose one printable from this collection, this is the one I recommend.

The packing list has come in handy for all of our last few moves. Most especially after the adventure of a move we had back in 2017. If you have and are curious, I wrote all about it in the post, Our Moving Adventure (Boy Do I Have a Story to Tell!)

The image starts with a close up photo of the top centre of a teal and white leather like planner laying on a wooden desk. The planner pages show a move out cleaning checklist planner budget with a table for categorized expenses on one page and a utilities and services fees planner on the other. Overlapping the photo and the sand background of the last third of the image, is a tan box with white text that says "Moving Planner." In the sand coloured area at the bottom of the image is dark green text that says "Moving Planner Printable Collection."
