Day 7: Recipe Sections

31 Days to a Clean and Organized Kitchen, October 2013 : ScatteredSquirrel.com

Happy Monday everyone!  I hope you all had a great weekend.  I know I had some fun organizing our pantry, and got a little teary eyed when I nixed the craft cupboard to create some much needed small appliance storage.  If you’re just joining us, you can get all up on the previous posts by heading over to my 31 Days page.  Today I’m slowing things down a little bit with some more printables for the kitchen binder.

I know I’m totally switching gears, but I thought today would be a great day to play catch up.  Organizing projects have a tendency to take over our home.  I don’t know about how thing work in your home, but in ours the area being organized usually gets the most attention and other areas start to suffer.  Right now I have a few areas in the house that are begging for a little TLC, mainly because they are holding piles of stuff I’ve pulled out of the kitchen.  So, for today I thought I would share with you all the Recipes section and all the dividers I’ve made for it.

Now, I’m not organizing my recipes today.  I need to get a few more organizing projects finished in the kitchen before I can turn my attention to getting my kitchen binder all set up.  But as I think of items I want to include, I’m making up the printables, printing them out and storing them in a file folder.  That way when it’s time to put together the binder and get the recipes organized, I will have everything I need.    But enough of me chattering on about them, here they are!

As you can see there are quite a few.  I kept it simple by keeping them all the same, I’m hoping that consistency will make it easy for me to keep it all up-to-date. I left room to write out tables of contents as recipes get added, though for some sections that space isn’t going to be large enough.  I suppose you could also use that space for Family Favorites from that section or whatever else you want too.

As with all printable here, please click the picture to snag a copy of your own.  Please be aware that first picture is the ENTIRE collection, if you just want to pick and choose the ones you want, click the individual pictures in the gallery bellow it.

Here’s the part where I was hoping you could help me.  You see I whipped up the subsection divider pages based on what sorts of recipes I need to organize.  I know everyone has different ways of doing things, and I toyed with doing a blank one for anyone who wants to add other categories.  Then I got to thinking, it really wouldn’t be too hard to whip up another batch with different titles.

So, my question to you all is, what subsections would you use for organizing your recipes?  Leave your answer in the comment section and I’ll do up a bonus post with all the ones you ask for!

For now, I’m off and running.  I want to get the other stuff taken care of so I can back to all the kitchen organizing fun.   Tomorrow we’re talking about zones and how to organize your kitchen with them in mind.  I’m also going to share when and why I think outside the zone when I’m organizing.

When you’re organizing one room in your home, do you find other rooms suffer?  Any tips for staying sane while tackling larger projects?

Hi Denise, I’m thrilled that you are enjoying and getting use out of the recipe divider pages. I know that feeling. Our recipes are a mess right now and I feel like I’ve been working on them for years. I hope you have fun getting yours all finished up!
