The Eyes Have It! (GlassesUSA review)

It’s no secret, I would be lost without my glasses.  I use them daily, for reading and working on the computer.  Without them I would end most days with a nasty headache from eyestrain.  While I love my glasses and the freedom they allow, I don’t love how much it costs to buy new ones.   I shudder to think how much I would have to spend if I needed my glasses all the time.

Frames and lenses are expensive, and even if you shop the sales, you still end up having to fork over hundreds of dollars for an item, that for many people, is essential to daily living.  When I heard about GlassesUSA.com, and their mission to provide quality frames and lenses for affordable prices, I had to hop on over and check them out.

You seem I am a huge believer in the saying “prevention is nine tenths the cure”, and when it comes to eye care, I think I’m an even bigger believer in that.  I come from a family of glasses wearers, I know how important having the right glasses is to basic quality of life.  I was really lucky.  When I was around fourteen, my Mom took me to see our optometrist.  I was having trouble seeing the black boards at school.   They discovered that I had a minor astigmatism, and our optometrist was confident that with the right glasses and some eye strengthening exercises, I would be able to correct it.  Four years ago, my eye exam turned out great.  There was nothing wrong with my eyes in general, just some focusing problems with close up stuff.  (Like REALLY close up stuff, my glasses are only for looking at things within an arm’s reach from my eyes.)  The astigmatism has indeed been corrected over time. (I would just like to say that there was quite a gap between visits to the eye doctor for me, I think I’d gone almost 8 years between check ups at that point,)

It was rather shocking to me.  I didn’t quite believe that you could correct your vision, but I’ve since been proved wrong.  Unfortunately for many people, acting quickly on something like getting glasses, isn’t always possible.  The expenses can be huge, and so, that’s why I was happy to check out this site, because they’re helping to make vision care a little more affordable.

I was surprised by number of frames in their selection.  There were brand names that I know and trust, at prices that made me do double take.  Just for fun I picked out a set of frames similar to the ones I’m wearing below.  I added in my eyeglasses prescription and selected the standard lens package, added on Transitions, and almost fell off my chair when the total was MUCH lower (almost half) than what I paid for my glasses, which were clearance frames and basic, basic lenses.

I have to admit, I am skeptical about buying glasses online.  My biggest concern is trying to figure out if the frames will look right on me.  But the people over at GlassesUSA.com have that covered with this nifty little feature called the Virtual Mirror, that allows you to “try on” the frames you’ve chosen.  While not the same as trying them on in person, I thought it was a great feature.

No matter what you need in your eyeglasses, it seems this site has you covered.  Distance/single vision, progressive, near vision, bifocals with line, heck even fashion lenses are all available, so you don’t have to NEED glasses to find something you’ll love here.  Maybe you’re in the market for a new pair of sunglasses, or having been wanting to get a pair of prescription sunglasses, well they have those too!  The fact they offer such a wide range of eye-wear is awesome.  Though I’m the only one in the house who need a specialty lens of some kind, we do have two very fair eyed people who need good sunglasses year round, kind of nice to know I can pick everything up in one place, and take advantage of the free shipping they offer.

So, fantastic selection, great prices, a lens for all wants and needs, backed by their 110% lowest price guarantee and their 100% satisfaction guarantee … what more could one ask for?  How about a deal on top of all of that?

The kind folks at GlassesUSA.com are offering 10% off any order of prescription glasses to all of you!  All you need to do is enter
